Construction of a Modern Infrastructure System was Accelerated
Unity can win, struggle will succeed.
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, our Party, relying closely on the people, has overcome seemingly insurmountable difficulties and created one miracle after another. Looking back on the extraordinary decade, the land of China is changing rapidly and its infrastructure has been comprehensively strengthened.
Look at the scale. The total length of the comprehensive transportation network has exceeded 6 million kilometers, with more than 840,000 kilometers of 220 kilovolt or above power transmission lines. The total length of optical cable lines has reached 54.81 million kilometers, 1.3 times, 1.7 times and 3.7 times of that of 10 years ago, respectively. China ranks first in the world in terms of the scale of high-speed railways, expressways, power grids and 4G networks.
Look at the mass. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other major projects have been completed and put into operation, and the Beijing-Shanghai-Trunk Line, the world's first quantum secure communication backbone, has been completed... A number of landmark projects lead the world, demonstrating the style of a major country.
Historic achievements have been made in the development of transportation, energy, water conservancy and new infrastructure, which have strongly guaranteed our economic and social development.
Delegates said that infrastructure is an important support for economic and social development, and that development and security should be balanced, the layout, structure, function and development model of infrastructure should be optimized, and a modern infrastructure system should be built to lay a solid foundation for comprehensively building a modern socialist country.
Speed up the building of China into a transportation powerhouse
Sichuan-tibet Post Road Kangding to Dege section, known as the snow line post road. With an altitude of 6,168 meters, Cherer Mountain is known as "the first risk in Sichuan and Tibet". Local people say, "A car over the Cherer Mountain is like going through the jaws of death." In the past ten years, the traffic in Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province has changed by a thousand miles a day. The highway from Chengdu to Kangding and the tunnel through the Cherer Mountain have shortened the "first risk of Sichuan and Tibet" to a 10-minute drive. Now the Sichuan-Tibet Railway is also being built.
"It used to take more than a week to send an email from Chengdu to Derge, now it only takes three days. Ganzi Prefecture has not only built highways, but also three airports. Matsutake from Yajiang and Daocheng, yak beef from Litang, red wine from Xiangcheng, Tibetan medicine from Dege... We're shipping them almost every day." Talking about the great changes in plateau traffic, Qi Mei Duoji, leader of the postal driving team of China Post Group Co., LTD. Garze County Branch in Sichuan Province, who has been sticking to the Snow Line Post road for 33 years, was overwhelmed with emotion.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the construction of China's modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation system, strategic backbone channels and multi-level integrated transportation hub system has been accelerated.
The scale advantage is obvious. By the end of 2021, China will have 150,000 kilometers of railways in operation, 160,000 kilometers of expressways, 4.466 million kilometers of rural roads, 250 airports and 5,581 air routes, and 128,000 kilometers of inland waterways open to traffic.
The layout is more balanced. The length of railways in operation in the central and western regions accounted for 60% of the national proportion. Every county has access to roads, and rural roads have increased by more than 900,000 kilometers over the past decade.
Service quality improved. China's high-speed railways cover more than 95 percent of cities with a population of more than one million, expressways cover more than 98 percent of cities with a population of more than 200,000, and civil transport airports cover about 92 percent of prefecture-level cities. Nearly 300 million express deliveries were handled every day, and 100 percent of qualified administrative villages had access to buses.
"The report of the Party's 20th National Congress called for speeding up the building of China into a transportation powerhouse. As a veteran of the transportation front for many years, I feel that the mission is glorious and the responsibility is on my shoulder. I will continue to firmly fulfill the purpose of 'People's Post for the people' and bring quality transportation services to the people's life." Its midogi is full of energy.
